How to run Tyee Rapid
Class III. Defined by a large house rock protruding from the left bank, a ledge hole, and the river right wall. Enter on river right, but be careful not to perch your craft on the rocky shallows that emerge from the right bank. In the middle of the rapid, there will be a large ledge hole to the left followed by the river right bank that you want to avoid as the river makes a sharp left hand turn. Run just to the right of the ledge hole, and then immediately work to stay off of the wall at the bottom. Watch out for a sneaky boulder that emerges at the bottom of the rapid below 2,100 CFS that is prime perching real estate.
