About Upper Half Moon Bar

Upper Half Moon Bar Camp is just downstream and across the river from Half Moon Bar Lodge. This camp is on a cobble bar with the groover located upstream, the kitchen down river from there, and tent sites located behind the camp up on the bar. This camp gets shade early which is nice during the hot summer months. As a bonus, the small rapid located here is fun and safe to swim during low water, as you can easily catch the downstream eddy just above Middle Half Moon Bar Camp and you can lap this swim easily as the walk back is on the cobble bar.
