About Spring Island
Prior to the dam removal, Spring Island was the furthest upstream put-in for the Upper Klamath. The access is still popular and features a single lane, dirt road for getting to the put-in. The put-in has pit toilets, some cell phone service (Verizon), and limited parking. This is a day use site, so no camping is allowed here.
From the dirt road the turn off for Spring Island is too sharp to make without turning around, so you will need to drive past the turn off about an 1/8 of a mile to be able to get your vehicle in the right direction. You’ll need to do the same maneuver when you leave as well.
