Class IV. Riverside homes on the right and a bridge overhead mean the whitewater is picking up. Island is the first and most challenging in a series of continuous Class IV rapids extending to Tucker Bridge. Head right of the island and enjoy this fun, lengthy boulder garden. Everything is wide open at the top with heaps of options and enough sleeper holes to keep you on your toes. The river channelizes as it bends left towards the bottom of the island. Stay left for a set of steep and powerful waves that end with a satisfying eddy at the confluence. At medium-high water, a sneak line opens up all the way right. There is a pool below the island to regroup.
