About Big Creek Camp
Appropriately named, Big Creek meets the Middle Fork here. The camp itself is tiny and uncomfortable, especially so when both creek and Middle Fork are at high flows. But the benefit of this isn’t so much the camping, but enjoying Big Creek. Hiking up Big Creek is a wonderful experience. The trail goes on and on and is well maintained. For the fisherman, at low water, the fishing is excellent, sometimes better than the Middle Fork Salmon itself.
And if hiking up Big Creek isn’t your thing, then walking upriver and across the bridge to Waterfall Creek is a fantastic experience.
