About the Tkope River

As you look down river on the descent from Sediments Creek you will actually be looking up the Tkope Valley rather than down the Tat. This major tributary typically pushes the main flow of the Tat river right against a long cliff, creating a long and fun wave train. If you stay close to the confluence you may be able to find clear pools of water bubbling up from the silt for drinking water. This may be a challenging place to find campsites unless the water is high. Similar to the O’Connor, hiking up the Tkope Valley is possible, but not easy.
