This rapid should definitely be scouted from river right or left. The scout is better from the right-hand side. Shot from river right, this drone footage shows the entirety of Boulder Drop Rapid. Most boaters enter on the right side at all flows. Depending on the water level, this can be a technical move or can form a hydraulic. Below the entrance, there is a fence of boulders. The most common line through this section is to thread the needle between a slot. Once you’ve threaded the needle through this section, work back towards the left and there is room between two very large boulders known as the House Rocks. Throughout the entire rapid, be mindful of the numerous waves/holes which can be quite sticky/momentum robbing.
