Rock Island

About Rock Island

The long Whitie Cox pool is broken up by a shallow, Class II riffle. At the bottom of this, there is a large rock standing alone. At some water flows, there is current pushing directly into it. At low water, the current swings far to the right of it. This is your indicator for Rock Island camp and is the camp’s namesake. The camp itself is left of this, past the cobble bar and into the trees. Make sure you avoid the Native American depressions.
