There’s a tricky flow where the water is a bit too low for Cables rapid, but still high enough for the rest of the run. When that happens, or if someone is looking for a slightly shorter Class IV Upper Kern lap, then this river access point is used. This is a small put-in so moving efficiently is key here. For parking, your best bet is up river a quarter mile away at a large pull out on the right hand side.
