Big Daddy is a simple Class II+ / III. Find your entrance by aiming for the cleanest tongue between the pour overs at the top of the rapid. In lower water, these may be exposed rocks. Once through the tongue, keep it straight in the wave train that’s in the middle of the rapid. As you exit the wave train, turn your raft to the left and start paddling in that direction. This will keep you off the right shore and bank as the river makes a gentle left hand turn. You shouldn’t need too many forward paddles to make it happen.
