About Nemesis Rapid
Nemesis Rapid is the second Class IV rapid you will encounter on the Tuolumne River. Luckily, it’s a bit less hectic than Rock Garden Rapid, which can be quite the crapshoot at most flows.
How to run Nemesis Rapid
Nemesis Rapid has a long, Class II-III entrance as the river gently bends to the left. As you round the bend, you will see a very large house rock. This is something to be avoided. Stay right of these rocks to avoid a dangerous rock garden. There is a narrow passage on the far right that keeps clear of the Nemesis boulder garden, but there is a wrap rock just below this passage. Below the wrap rock are a few large boulders to avoid.
