About Slippery Rock
Slippery Rock is the furthest upstream access point on the Lower Kern. This put-in was built by the Division of Boating and Waterways for just $70,000. It is located just 0.45 miles below Isabella Dam. To get here turn off highway 155 onto Keyesville Road and then where the road splits, take the left fork. Stay on the single lane, paved road and follow it all the way to turn around and the loading area, which is just a tenth of a mile from the split. You’ll have a short but easy carry from here to the river.
Once unloaded, park your vehicle by heading back to the large dirt parking lot that you passed as you turned in.
