Buffalo Rock is a large boulder you can see on the left canyon wall. It’s perched on the top of a cliff wall and is a great indicator of your location. This is the beginning of Buffalo Canyon. You’ll notice that the river constricts for the next few miles. It doesn’t actually appear like a buffalo all that much, but it’s here to stay.
