About the Grand Canyon Skywalk

Not technically in the Grand Canyon proper, you can see the Skywalk as you float by this side canyon and look far left. Built by the Hualapai Indian tribe it was opened in 2007, and by 2015 had amassed over one million visitors.

The Skywalk is a horseshoe-shaped glass walkway that allows visitors to walk out “over” the canyon. The Skywalk has been under controversy since its inception with the LA Times probably saying it best: “…An engineering marvel or a colossal eyesore, depending on who is describing it…” No doubt though that the $64 fee is much needed for the tribe that has suffered ongoing financial distress.
