About the Pacuare River flow
There is no automated flow gauge on the Pacuare River. Being in the rainforest with many tributaries the river levels are highly variable and can rise and flood quickly.
There is, however, a visual indicator of water flow just downstream of the Rios Tropicales lodge and upstream of the foot bridge. It is located on river left and is painted onto a rock. The photos are below showing what to look for. The main item, is if it is at the red level or higher, then you should not continue.
Red and higher: Too high
White: This is the “heaven” level, considered the best flows.
Orange: This is the normal flow during the rainy season.

You can see the red on the rock, with the water flow well below it. This is low water. Photo by Pacuare Outdoor Center.
