This is the first cable cart crossing you come across on the Pacuare River. It connects to indigenous Cabécar land on river right. The Cabécar are the largest indigenous group in Costa Rica. Additionally, this cart is the one that’s used by hikers on the Camino de Costa Rica, which is a relatively new hiking trail that stretches from the Caribbean to the Pacific ocean. The hike is 280 kilometers and is typically completed in 16 days.
