About Goldstrike Canyon
Goldstrike Canyon is accessible from the river as well as from Highway 93 as a day hike. The hike is closed during the summer due to excessive heat. If you are hiking the canyon from Highway 93, be prepared for a four mile round trip with several sections where you need to ascend and descend 15+ feet of steep rock using fixed ropes. The canyon features several hot springs, including some at the mouth with views of Colorado. A large group tub sits just a couple hundred yards up the canyon from the mouth. Hiking up from the river if you have arrived by boat is a must-do. The colors in Goldstrike canyon are vibrant and thermal water spouts out parts of the canyon in dramatic fashion.
Make sure you leave no trace of your visit. This is a special place, and one that is shared by many people. Remember, no camping or fires!
